About Me:
My name is Tanya, I got my Russian sounding name from my owner’s daughter, because I am a Russian black terrier.I was born in May 2010 in the city of Pécs, and from there I travelled to Litér, a small village near Veszprém. In addition to my two-legged family members Ildiko, Zoltán and Lili, I also have four-legged family members. Ildikó told me that they chose me because Zoli fell in love with my breed. They had read about Russian terriers that they are endlessly kind dogs who love very much, not only their own puppies, but also all small animals and human children. That is true. To give just one example: a visiting one-year-old nephew slept on me under the table while his parents were chatting on the terrace. My owner promised me that, I could give the love inside me to human children. She kept his promise and I was able to play first with strange dogs and then with strange children and people. She used to call it exam preparation, and now she says, “come on Tanya, let’s go to work”. I really like it because I get to do lots of interesting things, and there are times when I just lie in the middle and everyone petting me. I take my job seriously, if I sense from any two-legged friend that they are afraid of dogs, I work with them until they are encouraged. I don’t know how many human friends I’ve made this way. I also go to school, my owner teaches at the Padányi Catholic School in Veszprém. As a four-legged assistant teacher, I not only teach students anatomy and biology, but also show them how to relieve the tension they accumulate in class and during writing tests. In 2020, one of my owners, and in 2021 the other, will also learn how to train therapy dogs. Since then, we also have four-legged students, who I show how a real therapy dog should behave. I am proud to say that the reason why Sophie and Maya passed their exams so well is because they learned everything from me.
